Experience"Let ME help YOU reach your full potential!" ~ Dr. Bekah
While in college, I enjoyed teaching so much that I held "study sessions" for classmates so that I could help them as well. In medical school (and throughout training), I tutored other students, as it was truly the best way to learn. I enjoy teaching people new things, and I am able to look at the entire picture to determine which methods of learning best suit their needs (i.e. visual, auditory, repetition, drawing, examples, etc.). It is also very important to connect with each individual, so that they know that you have their best interests at heart. A relaxed student is one willing to work hard to learn the material!
As the mother of a 21-year-old college senior, who is a triple major recently returning from a Senate internship in Washington, D.C and applying to Law School, I have spent many years teaching organizational skills, time management and study techniques, focusing on the tremendous impact it has on your educational abilities and future endeavors. I enjoy working with young adults in high school or in undergraduate programs, with nursing students, medical students and graduate students, as well.
Holding a doctorate, I have a very strong background in the Sciences. I enjoy teaching and tutoring pre- requisite nursing classes, as well as medical school classes and am especially enthusiastic about these. I love a challenge! I enjoy working with someone new to find their strengths and build on those, to not only educate them, but boost their confidence and self-esteem as well! This creates an enthusiastic environment for a lifetime of learning. I primarily teach college level and graduate level courses in the scientific arena, and look forward to meeting your needs!
**Of note, Organic Chemistry is typically a class many undergraduate students struggle with. It is VERY important to do well right from the beginning of this class. I really ENJOY working with students in this class and have past and current students who will vouch that I CAN find ways to make it enjoyable AND manageable! Do NOT be scared. It is a difficult class...but it CAN be one that you do well in with some hard work and an effective tutor! :)
